Screen Change Watcher monitors a screen region you select and alerts you when its visible content changes. This policy explains how the Windows application handles information.
Screen captures
The app captures your selected screen region to display a preview and detect changes. This content may include personal or sensitive information visible within that region. Screen images are processed locally on your computer. The app does not upload screen images or monitoring events to 417 Solutions or operate a remote screen-monitoring service.
Optional screenshots
Screenshot saving is optional and disabled by default. If you enable it, the app saves screenshots of detected changes to your selected folder. Screenshots may contain any information visible in the monitored region; the app does not automatically redact sensitive content.
Settings & event history
The app stores preferences locally, including alert settings, monitoring intervals, and screenshot-folder locations. Event records may contain timestamps, screen coordinates, change percentages, status messages, and screenshot paths. Event history is kept only for the current session by default. If you enable history retention, the app stores up to 2,000 event records locally. You may also export event records as CSV or JSON files.
Monitoring & deleting local data
You control when monitoring starts and stops. Monitoring can continue while the app is minimized or hidden in the system tray. Fully exiting the app stops monitoring. To remove event history, use Clear Log; turning off history retention removes the saved history file. These actions do not delete screenshots or exported files. Delete those files separately using Windows File Explorer. Locally stored files are not automatically removed after a set period, and uninstalling the app may leave files you saved outside its managed storage.
File storage & synchronization
The app does not provide its own cloud synchronization or additional file encryption. Files stored in folders managed by OneDrive, another synchronization service, a network share, or backup software may be copied or accessible elsewhere according to those services and your settings.
Microsoft Store
Microsoft Store handles purchases, trials, and license verification. The app receives license-status information to determine whether monitoring is available. It does not receive your payment-card details or Microsoft account password. Windows and Microsoft Store may independently process transaction, device, and diagnostic information under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Analytics & external services
Screen Change Watcher includes no advertising or analytics SDK and does not automatically send monitoring data to 417 Solutions. Opening website, support, or Microsoft Store links connects you to those services, whose privacy practices apply to those interactions.
Support information
If you contact us for support, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your contact details, message, and attachments. We use that information to respond to your request and troubleshoot the issue. Please remove sensitive information from screenshots or logs before sending them.
Privacy questions & requests
For privacy questions or requests concerning information you have provided to us, contact 417 Solutions, LLC and identify Screen Change Watcher. Data stored only on your device must be managed on that device; we cannot remotely access or delete it.
Policy updates
We may update this policy when the app’s features or information-handling practices change. The effective date above identifies the latest revision.
